Description

The team development principles presented in this series of interventions are designed to address each stage of the Team Performance Model created by Alan Drexler and David Sibbet. The model explains sevens stages a team experiences as it progresses through it's life cycle.

They are:
• Orientation: Why am I a member of this team?
• Trust Building: Why are others on the team?
• Goal / Role Clarification: What are we suppose to do?
• Commitment: How are we going to accomplish it?
• Implementation: Who does what and when?
• High Performance: Task accomplishment, synergy.
• Renewal: Why continue?

During the first session, the stages of the team development model are explained to the team. The team then performs a self assessment to determine where in the model they are. The results are then discussed and plans are made for future sessions to assist the team progress through subsequent development stages.

At the Conclusion...
The participants should:
Be a cohesive team working together synergistically to accomplish a goal, much more effectively than otherwise
Understand their individual roles and responsibilities as well as those of the other members
