Description

The Requirements & Design Documentation Evaluation Workshop presents a process and specific checklists for repeatable evaluation of DOD STD 2167A requirements documents. The Document Evaluation Guidelines used in the workshop as well as the workshop itself were developed for the F-22 program.

The workshop consists of a brief introduction to the theory of software supportability, DOD STD 2167A, and the process used by the documentation evaluation guidelines. The vast majority of the workshop is used applying the evaluation process and the guidelines to a document of the organization's choice.

The workshop is particularly relevant to organizations that are tasked to review DOD STD 2167A software requirements and design documents. The guidelines have been successfully used by the F22 project as well as others. Acquiring organizations use the guidelines as a formal procedure for grading submitted documents before acceptance. Developing organizations use the guidelines as checklists as a completeness check as well as a validation test before delivery.

At the Conclusion...
The participants should::
Be able to apply the documentation evaluation process and set of guidelines to a given requirements and/or design document
Properly evaluate given documents per DOD STD2167A

Associated Activities and Deliverables
The workshop participants will receive a complete set of evaluation guidelines which cover all of the DOD STD 2167A DID's.

Prerequisites
The participants should be familiar with DOD STD 2167A.
