Mr. Earl Lee is a consultant and manager at Lockheed Martin Space Mission Systems and Services. Mr. Lee has 30 years experience in software development, beginning with IBM Federal Systems Division. During his long IBM career, Mr. Lee worked as a software developer on many large aerospace projects, managed software development and maintenance of the space shuttle avionics software, managed the verification and validation of space shuttle software, and was the practice leader of a consulting practice in the IBM Consulting Group. His innovative efforts have led to significant and quantifiable improvements in software product quality as well as substantial increases in programmer/engineer involvement in continuous process improvement.

Description

Software Reliability Engineering is the application of statistical techniques to data collected during system development and operation to specify, predict, estimate and assess the reliability of software based systems. A known, controlled, repeatable process will result in a product of known quality. We can help you develop highly reliable software!

Critical software systems must be reliable. The Software Reliability Service teaches the basic concepts and principles of software quality engineering. It addresses how software quality and reliability are related and how they differ. Quality measurement data on failures is necessary if you want to do meaningful reliability analysis. The service discusses what data to collect. The participants will learn about the influence of software reliability engineering methods on system reliability and approaches to modeling software reliability.

At the Conclusion...
The participant will:
Understand the concepts and principles of Software Reliability Engineering
Understand what data to collect for reliability analysis
Be able to identify proven methods to improve reliability engineering
Understand the approaches to modeling software reliability
