Mr. Earl Lee is a consultant and manager at United Space Alliance, formerly Lockheed Martin Space Mission Systems and Services. Mr. Lee has 30 years experience in software development, beginning with IBM Federal Systems Division. During his long IBM career, Mr. Lee worked as a software developer on many large aerospace projects, managed software development and maintenance of the space shuttle avionics software, managed the verification and validation of space shuttle software, and was the practice leader of a consulting practice in the IBM Consulting Group. His innovative efforts have led to significant and quantifiable improvements in software product quality as well as substantial increases in programmer/engineer involvement in continuous process improvement.

Description

The Software Inspections Workshop is designed to provide software developers with the skills and knowledge necessary to conduct successful inspections throughout the software lifecycle. Software inspections are contrasted with walkthroughs and peer reviews but the major focus of the course is on formal (Fagin) inspections. Particular attention is given to the use of inspection during the requirements evaluation, design and code, and verification test steps of the development lifecycle.

At the Conclusion...
The participants should:
Understand the importance of inspections
Contribute in an inspection process
Develop inspection check lists
Identify roles and responsibilities in the inspection process
Build their own inspection process


Prerequisites
Participants should have a working knowledge of the software development or maintenance process.
