Description
The Software Technology Support Center (STSC) provides assistance to client organizations on the phases of adopting Configuration Management (CM) technology.
| Phase I: Preparation and Planning |
| • | Create CM Adoption Plan |
| |
| Phase II: Process Definition |
| • | Capture organization's CM process |
| • | Develop process model |
| |
| Phase III: Tool Evaluation |
| • | Examine the existing resources |
| • | Set up the tool evaluation criteria |
| • | Evaluate selected tools |
| • | Train users to exercise all tools' options |
| |
| Phase IV: Pilot Project Implementation |
| • | Provide training on tool, process, and procedures |
| • | Define milestones and success criteria |
| • | Validate CM process model, and tool functions |

| Phase V: Roll-Out |
| • | Deal with resistance |
| • | Define an approach for converting to new tool |
| |
| Phase VI: Process Improvement |
| • | Review adoption results |
| • | Evaluate current SCM process and procedures to determine what works |
