Description

The Software Technology Support Center (STSC) provides assistance to client organizations on the phases of adopting Configuration Management (CM) technology.

Phase I: Preparation and Planning
Create CM Adoption Plan
 
Phase II: Process Definition
Capture organization's CM process
Develop process model
 
Phase III: Tool Evaluation
Examine the existing resources
Set up the tool evaluation criteria
Evaluate selected tools
Train users to exercise all tools' options
 
Phase IV: Pilot Project Implementation
Provide training on tool, process, and procedures
Define milestones and success criteria
Validate CM process model, and tool functions
 
Phase V: Roll-Out
Deal with resistance
Define an approach for converting to new tool
 
Phase VI: Process Improvement
Review adoption results
Evaluate current SCM process and procedures to determine what works
